Story, Mission & Vision
Our story, mission, and vision.
MMY was founded following the brutal slaying of three wonderful Muslim youths (Deah, Yusor, and Razan) in Chapel Hill, NC (The three winners) in 2015.
It was also a direct outcome of the pushback against the building of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro in order to help our youth overcome the hatred and alienation they felt during that time, and show them how beautiful our community is.
Our mission is to help connect, develop, grow, learn from, and educate our youth from all age groups through working together and serving the community.
Our vision is to provide our youth with opportunities to serve the community we live in, foster relationships with one another, and enhance the good nature in each one of them, all while developing a sense of pride in our Muslim identity.
Each one of our activities is led in part or whole by one of our youth, some as young as 16 years. The entire team supports and works toward supporting the youth who is leading.
The success of the event is not our objective, it is the growth of the youth leading and helping we aim for. This image shows our main areas of work. Our administrative tasks are not included.
