Building bridges. Creating connections

Faith is what we share, not what divides us.

Faith communities thrive when they know each other. As a Muslim nonprofit in a majority-Christian region, MMY does interfaith work not as outreach or strategy, but because we believe our neighbors are worth knowing,  and because we know our community is stronger when we serve it together.

Interfaith work isn't an add-on to what MMY does, it's at the heart of who we are. Growing up Muslim in Middle Tennessee means building bridges every day, and we believe that genuine relationships across faiths make our entire community stronger. From shared meals to joint service projects, MMY has been bringing people together since 2015.

Our Seat at the table brought hundreds of people together. our Appreciation Iftar connected hundreds of volunteers and nonprofit leaders, and our Love Your Neighbor became a flagship annual event attended by thousands.

A Seat At The Table

A Seat At The Table

Real understanding doesn't happen in conference rooms, it happens at dinner tables. A Seat At The Table brings together neighbors of different faiths, backgrounds, and stories for an evening of honest conversation over a shared meal. We handle the food and the facilitator; you bring an open mind. The conversations linger long after the plates are cleared.

Love Your Neighbor

Love Your Neighbor

A free, family-friendly afternoon of food, music, and conversation — open to everyone, regardless of faith, color, or background. Love Your Neighbor is what Murfreesboro looks like when we choose each other. Every year, it grows.

Appreciation Iftar

Appreciation Iftar

The people who serve Middle Tennessee don't always know each other. Our Appreciation Iftar fixes that. Each Ramadan, we invite nonprofit leaders, faith partners, and community volunteers to share an evening with us — breaking our fast together at sunset, in gratitude for the work they do alongside us all year long.

Murfreesboro Loves

Murfreesboro Loves

Murfreesboro Loves began in 2017, when a coalition of faith communities, civic leaders, and ordinary residents refused to let fear define our city. A planned white supremacist rally became the spark for a movement that's outlived the news cycle by nearly a decade. MMY has been part of it since the beginning.
