2019 annual report

As MMY closed its fifth year, its growth and impact were far greater than imagined: thousands of meals, meaningful relationships among hundreds of people, and support for dozens of local nonprofits. MMY received the NAACP Organization of the Year award and held its first Love Your Neighbor on the downtown square.

A scholarship benefiting ICM Academy honors Lina Kanakrieh, who was raised in Murfreesboro and killed in a car accident in 2019.

With the city schools, MMY stocked a room of supplies teachers can use for students and classrooms.

When underprivileged children in Smyrna faced a summer lunch shortage, the team prepared over 300 sacked lunches.

Services spending: $32,611 community service, $21,764 interfaith work, and $15,047 youth work. MMY keeps one bank account, uses QuickBooks, and has its finances reviewed by an accountant. Five-year totals: 16,000+ meals, 600+ events, 2,000+ supporters, and 20,000+ volunteer hours.
